Yonex RQiS 2 Tour Tennis Racquet

Yonex RQiS 2 Tour Tennis Racquet Review

Tennis Magazine

Sales Pitch
A mid-plus frame with extra length and plenty of pop used by pros Nicole Vaidisova and Maria Kirilenko.

How It Tested
The head light balance and manageable weight make it very easy to generate good swing speed with the RQiS 2 Tour. It has a thin throat which offers some flex for better feel, but the beam widens around the head for added stiffness, stability and pop. Controlled strokes are rewarded with excellent pace and the control, while not pinpoint, isn’t completely sacrificed. “It just gave me a lot of power on every shot,” said a 3.5 female all-courter. Playtesters particularly liked the extra juice they got on serves, where the extra half inch length also came in handy. The RQiS Tour 2 was especially popular with our female reviewers, who found it to be a capable performer at both the baseline and the net. The grip on the racquet is also unusually long, which may appeal to players with two-handed backhands.

Bottom Line
Should be a hit with Yonex fans and ladies in competitive doubles leagues.

The RQiS series offers incredible snap-back action which stores energy on impact and then releases it with power and speed leading to a higher level of impact speed. CS Carbon Nanotube has been adopted to further increase the impact speed.

Impact Speed: A snap-back action which stores energy on impact, then releases it with tremendous power and speed. The new material, Cup-Stack Carbon Nanotube, was adopted in these racquets to lead the ball to accelerate faster on each serve or return shot.

Cup-Stack Carbon Nanotube: Incorporated into the racquet frame, it provides all players the right amount of flex to stay with the ball and quick repulsion to make the full energy available for powerful returns.

Elastic Ti: Elastic Ti delivers the performance players have long wanted in a frame - high elasticity and high strength together. Titanium fibers in the shaft flex and snap back to their original shape a split second after impact and deflection with high accuracy and the with the full energy of the swing. It provides enhanced feel and an ultra efficient energy transfer.

Isometric Head Shape: Allows for more strings of equal length and a larger effective hitting area in the stringbed. Power, control and a huge sweet spot without increasing frame dimensions. With more strings of equal length and a larger effective hitting area in the string bed, it provides consistently more accurate shots with more power and control.
