HOW IT TESTED:
When you initially pick up the nPro Open 100 you might think this is a grinder�s racquet in the lineage of the Hammer family. It feels like there�s plenty of weight in the top of the frame, which would favor heavy baseline hitters with big swings. But don�t be fooled by first impressions. While you can do damage off the ground, this stick is actually rather head light, making it equally effective at net. Volleys had a soft feel with plenty of control and limited vibration, which can be attributed to its nanofoam and Double Hole technology. These features, along with a slight bump up in weight, are what separate the nPro Open 100 from the older nPro Surge. Throw that in with solid net play and glowing tester reviews in the serving department and you�ve got a great frame for doubles specialists. Some did feel, however, that the power at times overshadowed the control, making it unreliable from the baseline. Still, if you�re a competitive player looking for a little extra punch, it might be a worthwhile trade-off.
