HOW IT TESTED
Jumping into the genderspecifi c-frame game, Völkl has launched Attiva, a line of racquets that cater to women. As with Head’s Airfl ow line, this racquet has an ergonomic handle that Völkl says better fits a woman’s hand. It’s softer and more rounded to fit a woman’s smaller palms (none of our playtesters, however, noticed a difference). But the DNX 6 Attiva does stand on its own for a lot of good reasons. It falls into that range of racquets that give you some pop, but you need decent strokes to get it. The mid-plus frame has an inviting sweet spot, although you won’t fi nd it all the time unless you know what you’re doing. Strong intermediate testers really liked this racquet, especially on serves. It’s fl exible but still provides good stability and a comfortable ride, which players almost uniformly praised. It’s easy to see why this is Völkl’s best international seller.

BOTTOM LINE
It’s light, with an excellent blend of power and comfort for good players of any age.

The ideal racquet for women who play modern, powerful tennis. It is light but still extremely powerful! Thanks to DNX and Powerbridge, this tennis racquet is enormously torsion-resistant. The Powerbridge 6 Attiva enables players to hit hard, aggressive strokes without expending a great deal of energy. A racket for top performance!

How does Powerbridge work?

The secret of POWERBRIDGE lies in two components. The first is the tried-and-tested DNX technology, which is now being used in the bridge of the racket head for the first time. Second, the designers at Völkl Tennis have succeeded in reducing the cross-section of the bridge without losing stability. The quantity of expansion resin which functions as the binding agent to bond the yoke to the rest of the frame to form a unit remains completely unchanged here. The only difference is the higher compaction of the matrix. In conjunction with the power features of DNX this compression produces an enormously solid composite material which optimizes the heart of the racket, thereby investing the entire racket with more power.
